Jemmy Hope

Material for the sesquipedalian among us (I put my hands up). What was wrong with 'bibulous' and 'osculation'? 'Sternutation', I notice, is a favourite of TV quiz compilers.
I remember reading that 'tonguepad', corrupted to 'tompad', was an old cant word for a clergyman.

Thanks for those extra words, Jemmy, and for the cant meaning of tonguepad. I suppose clergymen were renowned for their talkativeness.
