I came across the word tantony the other day, which was a new word for me. A tantony is the smallest pig in a litter. The word is a contraction of St Anthony, who is the patron saint of swineherds, and who is often portrayed as being accompanied by a pig. Tantony also has a figurative meaning: it describes someone who closely or obsequiously follows another person.
Another English word that comes from a saint's name is tawdry (St Audrey). See a post I wrote on that word here.
