Great pieces, Susan. I'm continually amazed by the richness of British English and the differences in slang and regional expressions across relatively short distances.

Thanks, John. I'm sure US and Barbadian English are just as rich, but, yes, accents and dialects can differ across short distances here. St Helens is only about 12 miles from the centre of Liverpool, but the accents are very different.
