My wife played the exact same game in the 1950's in Durham and used 'alary' as she bounced the ball under her leg with the other girls completing a rhyme "have you seen your aunty Mary,sitting on her bum-te-lary, eating chocolate biscuits".Putting the ball under her leg on "Mary, Lary" and "biscuits" when the bouncer of the ball changed.
